Sunday, April 12th- Happy Easter

I started out early this morning with a 6:00 walk around the area. I didn't bring my camera this morning but will tomorrow so I will save talking about the early mornings until I have pictures to share.

After breakfast and a trip to Starbucks, we headed to the Yu Garden and Old Town. It is Sunday and so everyone goes out into the streets, parks, gardens and markets to get outside and out of thier small homes and apartments- with 17 million people in Shanghai it was very crowded! We enjoyed the beauty of the garden tour lead by a great tour-guide.
Some of us then took in a short tea ceremony and a bit of shopping before heading to lunch.

Singing in the park from Ralph Watson on Vimeo.
Sunday afternoon people in China gather in the parks and enjoy singing together. This video was taken of one group but there are many, many other groups all over the park- all singing, different sogns, over eachother, some off key! If you have ADD- this park is not the place for you!
